What’s the difference between Live Answering and Virtual Reception?

Live Answering

Live Answering is a simplistic message-taking service. When your office phones are busy or you’re unavailable, Live Answering operators will answer your phone call in your business name and explain that you or the appropriate department are currently unavailable, and a call-back message will be sent through to you or the appropriate team for a callback.

Live Answering operators can answer basic questions about your business, such as your office locations, website, email & email address etc.

By default, 3 parts of information is included in each message including the callers full name, contact phone number and reason for call. For an additional fee per call, additional pieces of information can be gathered.

Live Answering is best suited to an overflow, missed-call or out-of-hours messaging solution.

Virtual Reception

Virtual Reception builds on the foundation of our Live Answering product but adds the functionality of call transfers to the appropriate person or department. If the appropriate person or department is currently unavailable, a message will be taken and sent for a callback similar to the Live Answering process.

Virtual Receptionist operators can also answer basic questions about your business such as your office locations, website & email address etc.

Calls can also be handled differently out-of-hours so you’re not disturbed by a sales enquiry from a different timezone while you’re trying to sleep or enjoy family time.
